WHO WE ARE
"MUSIC IS WHAT CONNECTS US ALL. WHEN I AM DANCING, SINGING AND ACTING AT THE OSMF, I AM COMING HOME." - Ninnoc
THE OLD-SCHOOL MUSICAL FOUNDATION
The Old-School Musical Foundation (OSMF) is a talent development programme in musical theatre (the 'Performing Arts') for children and youngsters. Our students are trained in the three disciplines of theatre: dance, drama and vocals. The programme consists of skill development, physical training and mentality training. In order to get the best out of the students and help them to professionalize their talent, every aspect of the Performing Arts is taken into account, from training-sessions to performing on stage.
SHOWS
Multiple types of projects:
-
Musical projects
-
Stage performances during events (e.g. SAIL Amsterdam 2015)
-
Theatre shows created, directed and choreographed by Sue Chaloner
HEAD OF THE FOUNDATION
Sue Chaloner

Sue Chaloner, the Head of the Foundation, is responsible for the individual talent development of the students and the creation, direction and choreography of the shows.
With more than 50 years of experience in the music and Performing Arts industry, Chaloner is able as no other to spot and further develop talent. From experience, she knows what it takes to become a professional in the international Performing Arts. She teaches the students not only the required skills, but also the mentality that is needed to succeed in theatre.
Chaloner entered the showbusiness at the age of 2 when she did her first TV-commercial. Chaloner played in many professional shows, musical and television productions. She was one half of the well-known duo Spooky & Sue, and played with her Soultrain all over the world. Chaloner's love for music and theatre is her driving force; her goal is to pass on her experience in the international music and Performing Arts industry to the next generation.

OUR STUDENTS' STORIES

Mirte
Student for 9 years
"I used to be a very shy and insecure girl, but the OSMF changed it all. You do not only learn how to dance, sing and act, but you develop in a social way as well. The last several years my self-image changed. I’ve become more aware of the things I can do and the things I still have to work on. It has allowed me to make a lot of progress. I have been at the OSMF for nine years, and I hope that there are many more years to come."

Sam
Student for 3 years
“I work hard for my dreams, so that one day I will stand on that stage! The OSMF gives me the strength to fight for my passion. I found my passion and purpose here; it helps me grow. It makes my life perfect, exactly the way I want it to be…”

Mairead
Student for 3 years
“At the beginning, I felt scared because I thought I wasn’t good enough for all these amazing dancers and actors. But when I was at the OSMF, I realized that it didn’t matter at all, because we are here for the same reason. This is our passion; this is what we do! And this is such a great group of people, because we are not just a class: we are a family. I’m so happy that I’m a part of this family."

Isobel
Student for 1 years
“I joined the OSMF this year. I came and watched a workshop and instantly knew I wanted to join. When you come here, you’re a part of something. From day one I felt like part of the family. While being here my passion for dance became stronger, but I also developed a passion for the theatre. My whole life revolves around it. To the point where I dance and sing around the house, and when I can’t sleep at 11 o’clock at night I get up and start dancing. It’s something I can do at any time. When I’m sad, angry, happy or excited. It isn’t just a passion. It is my life.”
